Why Sinking A U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier Is Almost Impossible

On the 5th of September of 2026, Iran fired missiles at a US aircraft carrier and destroyer. Central Command says both ships evaded the attack and nobody was hurt…however it won’t name the carrier. No American carrier has been lost to an enemy since 1945. But the job of preventing that has been getting harder and harder every single year. This video will go over how a carrier strike group does defend itself, ring by ring, from the outside and working our way all the way in. A E-2D Hawkeye at 30,000 feet, the Aegis radars on the escorting destroyers, and the shared picture that lets one ship fire on another ships track. SM-3, SM-6 and SM-2 interceptors and what part of the missiles arc each one is built for…etc We also follow the record from the Red Sea to the Arabian Sea, 220 missiles fired in 15 months, a cruise missile stopped inside a mile of USS Gravely, and a Navy asking for 6-8 BILLION more in order to restock. Finally we will end with the only time anyone has ever tried to sink a supercarrier; the navy in 2005…for 25 days.
